I came to know that Luxembourg company registration is anonymous. Is this true?

Alright, so I’m super paranoid about privacy—like, seriously concerned. Had some f*cking bastards dig into my business before, and I’m not letting that sh*t happen again. I heard that Luxembourg is good for anonymous company registration, but I wanna know if that’s actually true or just some outdated info.

Compared to other places, how private is it really? Like, if I set up a company there, can people still track me down, or is it airtight? Anyone actually dealt with this before?

Luxembourg used to be one of the most private places for business, but now? Not so much. They got hit with pressure from the EU and had to tighten their rules. You can still keep some level of privacy, but it’s nowhere near as anonymous as it used to be.

If you register a company there, your basic info is now in the public registry—but if you use a nominee director/shareholder, you can still hide behind that. Banks, though? They’ll want to know who’s really behind the company, especially if you’re moving serious money.

Damn, so they’re not as private as people make it sound? What about compared to, like, the UK or Switzerland?

Nah, not really. Compared to the UK, Luxembourg is still better in terms of privacy—because the UK makes all company owners visible in their public records. But Switzerland? Way better than Luxembourg. If you really wanna stay off the radar, Swiss holding companies are still one of the best moves, but good luck opening a bank account there unless you’re already rich.

If you’re just looking to hide your name from random people, Luxembourg is decent. But if you’re trying to dodge governments, banks, or regulators, you need to look at places like Nevis, Seychelles, or the UAE.

Got it thanks for filling me in on that.

Luxembourg is not the place to be if you want full anonymity. People still use it because it looks high-end and legit, but if privacy is your main goal, there are way better options. Like, if you just need to keep your name off a company registry, Belize and Nevis are still solid. If you wanna actually move money without raising eyebrows, the UAE is probably your best bet.

Banks in Luxembourg are strict as hell now, too. They’ll ask for full UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Owner) disclosure, and you can’t get around that unless you have serious legal structuring in place.

So Luxembourg is mostly just for looking fancy but not really for keeping sh*t private?

Exactly. Luxembourg is for people who want to look like a big player, but if you’re trying to actually disappear, it’s not what it used to be. Like, if you just need to avoid nosy competitors, it’s fine. But if you’re worried about government tracking or financial surveillance, you need a stronger setup.

Also, Luxembourg has automatic information exchange with the EU now, so if you’re from an EU country, your info will get reported to your home country’s tax authority. If privacy is your main concern, Luxembourg is NOT the move anymore.

If you’re not an EU citizen, it’s a little better, but even then, banks there will want to know everything about you before they open an account.

Sh*t, that’s not what I wanted to hear. What’s the best alternative, then?

If you want privacy + banking, go UAE or Singapore. If you just want your name off public records, go with Nevis, Belize, or Seychelles. If you want prestige but still decent privacy, Switzerland is still good but expensive.

Yeah, this. Also, if you go offshore, don’t be dumb about it—use nominee services, set up a holding structure, and for god’s sake, don’t try to use a Luxembourg company like it’s 2010. That ship has sailed.

Got it. Luxembourg’s basically a no-go if I actually care about privacy. Guess I gotta look into UAE or Nevis. Appreciate it, y’all!
